On Site Service

Escalator Step Cleaning Service, a subsidiary of ECS Corp., is an on-site, afterhours, professional escalator step cleaning service. We will come to your building at a time convenient for you and clean your escalator steps without them having to be removed. Our process involves:

  • The step treads being dry vacuumed to remove dirt in the recesses. They are then degreased to get stubborn grease, oil and dirt out of recesses.
  • Our specialty designed and patented step cleaning machine is positioned in place.
  • The team leader starts the equipment and both the top and front of the steps are sprayed, brushed and cleaned of dirt, oil, lint and grease.
  • After cleaning the hydraulics elevate the machine so it can be pushed on the next step to be cleaned.
  • Our crew touches up by hand any spots that might remain.
  • All waste water is brought back to our facility for EPA approved disposal.

Off Site Cleaning

For a more thorough cleaning, ECS Corp in cooperation with your maintenance company will wash your steps at our Broadview, IL facility. Once we receive the steps:

  • We remove the rollers to avoid damaging them in the process.
  • The steps are then placed on a conveyor, which carries them through the wash system.
  • More than 125 powerful jets spray 180°F water over the top, front, side and underside of each step.
  • The wash removes all the dirt, grease, oil, and lint.
  • The rollers are replaced. If too badly worn, they are replaced with new rollers.
  • All waste water is collected and disposed of in an EPA approved manner.
  • If coordinated in advance, same day service is available. You will have your steps ready for pick up in a matter of hours.
